Brielle received her first round of vaccinations. She was very sad.

She weighs 12 lbs 9 oz and is 23.75 inches long. We have a good sized baby on our hands:) She is in the 90th percentile for height and weight and 75th percentile for head size.

Dear Brielle,

Another month has flown by and you have changed so much! Mommy is loving being a stay at home mom because there are so many changes on a day-to-day basis she gets to see them all.

  • You like baths! All of the sudden you began to enjoy taking a bath. It is so much fun to watch you wiggle around and enjoy the warm water.
  • You suddenly like your swing. You like to watch the mobile and chat with the lamb and stars.
  • You also like the crib soother. It is a blue light waterfall that plays lullabies. When we change your diaper you like to look at it and make little cooing noises.
  • You have started to smile. You wake up happy and smiling in the morning it is such a pleasure to see your little face smiling at us.
  • Your colicky phase is diminishing even more. You are still a little fussy in the evenings, but you are sleeping more and more at night.

We love you so much Brielle. We ae excited to take you on your first plane ride in July and to introduce you to more of our good friends.

Love,

Mommy and Daddy

Baby Shower, house guests and other activities

SO much has happened in the last month, so I am going to wrap it all into one post!

First, my great friend Jennifer Toney came to visit! She is a girl I met in grad school who is such an amazing friend! I feel so blessed to have her in my life. WHile she was here we did a ton of sightseeing. We took a day trip to Whidbey Island. It is a beautiful drive that involves a ferry ride and some beautiful scenery. We also went to Pikes Place Market, Space Needle and Snoqualmie Falls. It was a wonderful week! Brielle did really well being out and about every day, I think it actually helped her sleep more soundly at night. Here are some pictures from the trip.

After Jen left Eva and my mom arrived for my baby shower. It was a wonderful day! The majority of my friends do not live in Washington, but a lot of people sent notes for an album Eva put together. It was so sweet to read what everyone had to say! Thank you for participating in this activity! Here are some photos from the shower.

June 2 was my 30th birthday and it was a great day. We looked at wedding dresses for my brother’s fiance, and had a delicious dinner! Although I was not looking forward to 30 it really was not that big of a deal:)

It was a fun filled few weeks with lots of visitors and lots of fun. We have a pretty busy summer ahead of us. My nephew will be visiting sometime, Dan and I are heading to Chicago/WI for a wedding July 8-15 and I am taking Brielle to Alaska July 21-29 for my Gramma’s memorial and to throw Eva a baby shower.

Work…..

So, for those of you who do not know Dan and I have decided that I will not be returning to work for a while. It makes more financial sense for me to stay home with Brielle instead of putting her into daycare (which is outrageously expensive). So, for now I am staying home. I am excited to have this time with my girl and see what the future holds job wise.
